CASE STUDY
A large UK Precision Engineering company was concerned that they weren’t able to rigorously identify and manage external cyber security threats. They were particularly concerned about the increase in ransomware attacks, but found that they were unable to actually detect, monitor and remediate any specific threats as they developed on the open and dark web.
Black Room Intelligence worked with the organisation to understand their key business operations and performed a comprehensive threat horizon scan to provide them with a current state threat assessment.
Having received this current state threat assessment, the organisation concluded that the current threats were significantly above an acceptable risk level and further engaged Black Room Intelligence to provide 24/7 active monitoring against targeted threats and other entities operating against the organisation. Black Room Intelligence provided Monthly and Weekly updates to describe emerging threats and current trends along with immediate escalation for any observed high risk events, such as attacks to competitors.
As a result, the Leadership Team in the Precision Engineering Company were able to quickly provide assurance to all senior stakeholders and their Board that external threats were being identified, monitored and risk managed in a pro-active manner, minimising the risk of cyber attacks causing reputation and commercial harm through data leaks and operations outages.
